Arrival & directions๏ผ
Check-in is from 4:00pm. Chalet 185 is at Sandown Bay Holiday Centre, Yaverland Road, Sandown, PO36 8QR. Follow the red arrows on the site plan to the chalet. Access codes are sent separately to confirmed guests.
WiโFi & entertainment๏ผ
WiโFi details are displayed inside the chalet. Please sign out of personal streaming accounts before leaving.
Heating & Alexa๏ผ
The heaters are connected to Wi-Fi and have preset schedules and settings. Please do not unplug them or switch them off at the wall.
During warmer/summer months the heaters may be OFF, but the display will still show the current room temperature. A temperature showing on the display does not mean the heater is switched on or heating.
If a heater is unplugged or switched off at the wall, its Wi-Fi connection, schedules or settings may be disrupted and need resetting. If a technician is required to attend as a result, the cost may be chargeable to the guest.
Alexa voice commands
Use Alexa to control the heating rather than switching the heaters off at the wall:
- โAlexa, turn all the heaters on.โ
- โAlexa, turn all the heaters off.โ
- โAlexa, turn on the living room heating to 20 degrees.โ
- โAlexa, turn on bedroom 1 heating to 21 degrees.โ
- โAlexa, turn on bedroom 2 heating to 19 degrees.โ
- โAlexa, turn up the heating.โ
- โAlexa, turn down the heating.โ
The wall display can continue to show the room temperature even when the heater itself is off.
Kitchen & appliances๏ผ
The chalet has the usual kitchen appliances. Please note there is no dishwasher or washing machine, as this is short-stay self-catering accommodation. Please contact us if anything is not working as expected.
Hot water๏ผ
Please open the hot water taps fully when using them. If they are not opened fully, the hot-water unit in the kitchen can trip and you may lose hot water.
If the unit trips, please contact us for help. For safety, guests should not remove the unit cover or attempt an electrical reset themselves.
Outdoor equipment & BBQ๏ผ
BBQs are not allowed outside the chalet. BBQs may be used on the beach. Please clear away all rubbish afterwards and leave the beach clean.
Outdoor chairs and equipment should be returned to the chalet after use and must not be left unattended.
Pets & house rules๏ผ
Dogs are welcome where agreed. No smoking or vaping inside. Quiet hours are 10pmโ8am. Please report accidental damage.

Local area & tides๏ผ
Enjoy Sandown Bay, Yaverland Beach and the beautiful coastal walks nearby. At high tide there can be very little beach at Yaverland, so itโs worth checking the tide before setting off on a longer walk.
Before you leave๏ผ
Checkout is by 10:00am. Wash up, remove rubbish, check belongings, return keys to the external key box and scramble the code afterwards.
